Installing WordPress

How to install WordPress in a couple of minutes with the app installer.

With the installer (recommended)

  1. Log in to the MCHosting panel and pick your site in the “Web” section.
  2. In the site settings open the app installer and choose WordPress.
  3. Enter the site title and the admin login, password and e-mail. The database is created automatically.
  4. Click “Install” — your site is ready in about a minute.
  5. Enable SSL for the site in the panel (guide).

Manually

  1. Download the archive from wordpress.org.
  2. Create a MariaDB database and user in the panel (guide).
  3. Upload the files to public_html (guide).
  4. Open the site in a browser and enter the database details in the setup wizard.

Security tips

  • Don’t use “admin” as the login; set a strong password.
  • Keep WordPress, themes and plugins updated.
  • Install plugins only from the official directory.
